About IndustryWiki
A reference for understanding the machinery of the economy.
IndustryWiki explains the activities, participants, constraints, and economic relationships behind familiar products and services. It is designed to make an unfamiliar industry understandable without removing the details that make it different.
What you can explore
The initial edition contains 36 profiles across 20 editorial sectors, 12 shared concepts, and three connected industry walkthroughs. Coverage is developing. A sector’s presence does not mean every industry within it has been documented.
Who makes it
IndustryWiki is maintained by protosphinx, alongside SMBwiki and BOMwiki. Profiles are prepared with AI-assisted research and drafting, then checked for structural consistency, arithmetic, source links, and editorial clarity. They have not been independently reviewed by an expert in every industry.
How to use it
Start with an industry, follow its process and money flow, then explore its suppliers, customers, and related concepts. Hypothetical calculations are teaching examples, not forecasts or market averages. Regulatory details apply only to their stated jurisdiction.
